Benefits of LED Street Lights

Today I read a white paper in Philips website. It's about performance benefits of LED Street lights. Comparing to high pressure sodium lamps and Mercury Vapor lamp, the performance benefits of the LED Street lights are as follow:
  1. Lower power consumption (67W) - save energy use by 52% over Mercury Vapor (138W) and 26% over a high pressure sodium lamps (90W)
  2. Higher efficacy (50 lm/W) - LEDs far exceed mercury vapor 31 lm/W and contribut to energy savings again
  3. More lux per watt (0.21) - more than double that of a mercury vapor streetlights.
Besides it do not have undesirable visibility, safety and glare problems.
  4. More even light distribution (0.40) than either of the high pressure sodium lamps and Mercury Vapor lamp, as indicated by the ratio between the minimum and average lux produced in the target zone. The LED scenario was the only.
